Miss Thompson
From a very early age, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. After qualifying in 2002, with a BA in Primary Education and Geography, I started my teaching career in a small village school in Wiltshire where I developed a love for teaching Mathematics. My passion for Mathematics led me to become a MAST (Maths Specialist Teacher) by achieving a degree at Manchester University. Throughout my career I have led Mathematics across the schools that I have worked in. Missing rural life finally led me to Burnsall School and to my new home in the Dales.
When I am not teaching, I love to explore! Along with my husband (and sometimes with our dog) we enjoy an adventure both at home and abroad. My interests in Physical Geography and the world have led us to some amazing places and allowed us to have some magical experiences. When not exploring on foot, I love to be on the water and have enjoyed paddling down lochs, lakes and rivers on our Canadian canoe, watching the world go by.
